Sheikh Ismet serves as Imam of the Islamic Society of Baltimore. He is a world renowned Qari known for his mastery of tajweed and intonation. He studied at one of the oldest and the most prestigious Islamic institutions in the world, the University of Al-Azhar. A native of Turkey, Sheikh Ismet speaks Turkish, Arabic and English and has done multiple visits to the region.

Can I book my own airfare?
At this time, we do not offer a land-only package. The trip cost includes international airfare between Washington, DC (IAD), Türkiye (IST) and Uzbekistan. It also covers the cost of all domestic travel.Do I need a visa for Turkey or Uzbekistan?
Turkey: Generally, U.S. citizens can enter visa-free for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.Uzbekistan: A tourist visa may be required. E-visas are available online via the Embassy of Uzbekistan and typically cost around $20–$40. Those under age 16 or above age 55 are allowed entry for 30 days maximum on a visa-free basis. All transportation is covered as part of the trip. This includes premium/luxury air-conditioned coach buses for all transfers, tours and inter-city travel, domestic flights, and high-speed train.How much luggage can I bring?
We strongly recommend traveling light as possible. Each person should bring no more then one checked in bag (21 kg), and 1 carry-on bag (7 kg).Will I attend Friday prayers in one or both countries?
Yes! The tour includes Jumuah in Istanbul and Jumuah in Samarkand, both in historic mosques.Is it safe to travel in Turkey and Uzbekistan?
